New Delhi, June 21, 2024 — Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan clarified today that there is no decision to cancel the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) 2024. This statement comes amidst concerns and rumors following the recent cancellation of the UGC-NET exam due to widespread irregularities.
Minister Pradhan addressed the media, emphasizing that the issues surrounding NEET are “isolated incidents” and assured that the ongoing police investigations into these irregularities are progressing effectively. “There are no plans to cancel NEET-UG 2024. The examination will proceed as scheduled,” he stated.
In response to the irregularities reported in the NEET exam, the Minister announced the formation of a high-level committee to thoroughly investigate these issues. “We are committed to ensuring the integrity and fairness of the examination process. The high-level committee will work diligently to address and rectify any irregularities,” Pradhan added.
