Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), Patna is the counselling authority responsible for conducting admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in the state of Bihar. The counselling for 85% State Quota seats is conducted by BCECEB, while the counselling for admission to 15% All India Quota seats is held by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), New Delhi, on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The counselling is conducted after the declaration of NEET results.
Admissions to all the medical colleges in the state of Bihar are done on the basis of candidates’ NEET UG scores. Candidates seeking admission to medical or dental colleges in Bihar are required to register online by filling an application form. There are around 1190 MBBS seats and around 240 BDS seats in Bihar. Candidates are called for the counselling sessions of BCECEB in offline mode. Counselling is conducted by BCECEB in two rounds followed by a mop-up round for vacant seats.
